Lesson Guidelines

In preparing your CME/CE lessons we ask you to keep these guidelines in mind. CME/CE lessons are typically between 4,000 and 6,000 words in length and must be written in AMA or American Psychological Association format. Our Continuing Education & Continuing Medical Education lessons are divided into three sections: the introduction, the body, and a conclusion.

The introduction should outline and explicitly state the learning objectives of your CE & CME lesson. Readers should not only be interested in the material presented in your lesson, but also how it applies to their practice.

In the body, you should present background information, definitions and conceptualizations of key terms, diagnostic information, and explore treatment options and any issues in treatment. We welcome the use of charts, figures, and case studies were applicable.

In the conclusion, we ask that you include a summary of key teaching points and any treatment recommendations or conclusions you wish to include about the information presented in the CME lesson. We also ask that you submit six multiple choice questions along with your lesson.
